Cost of SMS texts

    We know that SMS messaging can be an additional cost fo Club Treasurers to consider, but what is a reasonable cost, what would you be prepared to pay for this service and is it something that you feel will enhance your club website?

    I think because lots of members get free text bundles it suddenly becomes an extra cost to the club when you introduce texts via the website. However if you could bring the cost down to under 5p each then I think it would be more attractive

    Our treasurer is dead set against using texts as sees it as an unnecessary cost so it would have to be very cheap to convince him - personally I think if you can keep it to under 5p then we might persuade him to let us use texts for urgent messages like training cancellation, match cancellations etc.

    I think our club goes along the same lines as Harbs, Why pay for texts when Captains have free text bundles??

    Were hoping to really test the team selection part of the service next year, unfortunately it will all be by email!

    We'll be using Twitter with an RSS feed to the website. Coaches send messages 'Teamname:message'
