We have an intermediary. our structure is team & coach -->team manager (who may manage several teams) as a point of contact for parents. When players sign up to our club we ask for parents to sign the documents also agreeing a code of conduct and that any issues be taken to the team manager not to the coach on the day of matches or training. It works pretty well after several years of 'parents who know better !'

I like this idea,we have a code of conduct for parents but don't actually ask them to sign up to it so there is no comeback, however to be fair we have very few incidents of parent power
